Mrs. Kristie Johnson
Dear Parents,
Hi, my name is Mrs. Kristie Johnson. I am the kindergarten and first-grade Inclusion/ Resource teacher, and day transition teacher for the school year. This is my seventh year teaching. Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked as an assistant teacher for over seven years between grades kindergarten through fifth grade.
I do believe that education is not limited to the classroom. True education involves many more people than students and teachers. Parental involvement is so important to the success of your child. It is very important that we communicate often regarding your child’s progress. Homework helps, and following up with consistent behavior plans are ways to stay involved. Children should learn wherever they go. I believe that every moment is a teachable moment. Education is their survival pack for life.
I also believe an effective school/classroom environment emphasizes the uniqueness of every individual. Every child has the potential to bring something unique and special to the world. I plan to create an environment where your child is able to discover who they are, so they will develop the ability to express their own educated opinions. Through self-discovery, each child has the ability to reach their fullest potential and grow into his/her very own unique self.
I am excited about being working with you and your child this school year. Always remember "At Popp's Ferry, We Don't Just Fly, We Soar!" "Excellence From All; For All!" I am looking forward to a successful year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kristie Johnson
